Weidun®WD005 is more than a simple barrier. Furthermore, it is a structural asset. This TPO membrane provides the necessary protection for concrete roofing systems and steel roofing systems.
Currently, most high-end steel structure roofing systems use TPO membranes, primarily due to their excellent aging resistance in exposed applications.

Products Comparison
This thermoplastic polyolefin sheet serves as a high-performance foundation for your waterproofing system. It possesses a flexible base that absorbs structural movement and provides a primary watertight seal. When installed as a single-ply or part of a multi-layer system, it ensures the structural envelope remains impervious to moisture ingress even under mechanical stress.
For projects where torches or open flames are prohibited, our self-adhesive membrane provides a durable SBS-modified solution. It is a preferred choice for low-slope areas and primed substrates where peel-and-stick safety is the priority. However, this product is not suitable for exposed applications and must be protected with a cement mortar to ensure long-term waterproofing performance.

However, installation requires trained roofing professionals using hot-air welding and mechanical fastening or fully adhered systems.
In contrast, self-adhesive bitumen membranes are a cost-effective and versatile waterproofing solution. They are easy to install without open flames, making them suitable for a wide range of applications, including roofs, basements, foundations, balconies, and other below-grade waterproofing projects.
In general, TPO is the ideal solution for premium exposed roofing systems, while self-adhesive bitumen membranes remain the practical choice for versatile, economical waterproofing across both roofing and underground structures.
Expert-Insight
Inspect the roof substrate to ensure it is structurally sound, clean, and dry. Remove rust, dust, grease, loose coatings, and other contaminants that may affect membrane performance. Repair damaged areas and ensure the surface is smooth before installation.
Lay XPS insulation boards or other approved insulation materials according to the roofing system design. Secure the insulation firmly to the roof deck and ensure the boards are tightly fitted with a level surface to provide stable support for the TPO membrane.
Position the TPO roofing membrane and install it using a mechanically attached or fully adhered system, depending on the project specifications. Hot-air weld all overlaps with professional welding equipment to create continuous watertight seams. Finally, inspect each welded joint to ensure complete fusion and long-term waterproofing performance.
