How TO USE

The construction process of Mineral Granules Bitumen Membrane can be described as follows:

  1. Surface preparation: The waterproof surface should be cleaned of debris and leveled. Any cracks or voids in the surface should be repaired before the membrane is installed.
  2. Priming: A layer of primer should be applied to the prepared surface. The primer helps to improve the adhesion between the membrane and the substrate.
  3. Cutting and positioning: The membrane is unrolled and cut to the appropriate length. It is then positioned on the surface to be waterproofed. Overlapping seams are necessary, and the manufacturer’s recommended overlap should be followed.
  4. Heating and bonding: The membrane is then heated using a propane torch or hot air gun until the modified bitumen on the bottom of the membrane softens. This allows the membrane to bond to the prepared surface. Care should be taken to avoid overheating, which can cause the membrane to melt or shrink.
  5. Sealing: The seams and edges of the membrane are sealed using a hot air gun or propane torch to melt the modified bitumen on the edges of the membrane. This helps to create a continuous and waterproof surface.
  6. Protection layer: Finally, a protection layer such as gravel or insulation board is installed over the membrane to protect it from damage and weathering.
