WD006 is a high-performance, cold-applied pre-poured waterproofing sheet. It utilizes a durable, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) backing.. The sheet is coated with a specialized pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and a unique weather-resistant protective coating. It is not the same as the traditional post-applied membranes that are stuck to the building. Rather, this membrane is a blind-side system.
Weidun®WD006 is primarily used for basement blind-side waterproofing in tight urban sites, tunnel and subway construction, and critical slab-on-grade projects. It is engineered for heavy-duty underground protection, high-performance civil engineering, and critical foundation sealing where it can protect structures from high-pressure groundwater and soil moisture.
HDPE pre-applied membrane installation requires a properly prepared substrate, correct membrane orientation, and secure fixing. First, clean the concrete surface and remove dust, debris, and sharp objects to ensure a smooth installation base. Next, place the membrane with the sand-coated surface facing upward to enhance bonding with the poured concrete. Finally, fix the membrane according to project requirements, carefully treating overlaps and details to create a continuous and reliable underground waterproofing system.

Before deploying the pre-applied HDPE waterproofing membrane, comprehensive substrate preparation is mandatory. The structural excavation surface—whether a smooth mud slab, concrete blinding, or a shotcrete retaining wall—must be completely sound, uniform, and free of any sharp protrusions, loose gravel, or standing water.
Weidun’s Tip – For irregular lagging or rough shotcrete walls, installing a non-woven geotextile cushioning layer is highly recommended to eliminate the risk of puncturing the HDPE liner under immense lateral earth pressure.
Unroll the HDPE waterproofing sheets directly over the prepared substrate. For below-grade slab applications, ensure the sand-coated surface faces upward (towards the interior) to subsequently form an un-tearable mechanical bond with the poured concrete. For blind-side vertical walls, the membrane must be installed sequentially using targeted mechanical fastening. Secure the top edge and perimeter flanges with heavy-duty washers and metal fixings driven into the substrate.
With the underground waterproofing barrier firmly secured and all penetration details sealed, the site is ready for structural steel reinforcement. Workers must utilize plastic-capped rebar concrete spacers rather than sharp concrete blocks to prevent tearing the HDPE membrane during rebar positioning. Finally, proceed with the structural concrete pouring directly onto the pressure-sensitive, sand-coated side of the membrane. As the wet concrete matrix cures, it integrates completely with the sand particles, establishing a permanent anti-water-migration seal that eliminates any potential lateral water tracking.
